The legal basis for data processing is the legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 13 DSG and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from the above-mentioned purposes of data collection. Under no circumstances do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person. Cookies
We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that your browser automatically creates and stores on your device when you visit or use our website. A cookie does not mean that we can identify you in every case.
The use of cookies serves, on the one hand, to record the frequency of use, the number of users and behaviour on our website, to increase the security of website use and to make our information offering user-friendly.
We use session cookies on our website. Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain in your browser's cookie file until you leave our website. Session cookies are used to ensure the optimal functioning of our website.
We also use persistent cookies to improve the user-friendliness of our website. Persistent cookies remain in your browser's cookie file for a much longer period of time. This period depends on what you have selected in your Internet browser settings. Persistent cookies enable information to be transmitted to a web server each time you visit the website. We use persistent cookies to store your preferences and various settings.
The data processed by cookies is necessary for the above-mentioned purposes in order to pursue our legitimate interests and the interests of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
Hosting, telemetry and error diagnostics (Wix)
This website is operated on the platform of Wix.com Ltd. As our processor, Wix provides the technical infrastructure (delivery of page content via a content delivery network) and collects technical data required for the secure and stable operation of the platform — in particular telemetry data (e.g. loading times, browser error messages) and error diagnostics logs. For error logging, Wix uses Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA) as a sub-processor; transfers to the USA are safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. These processing operations serve neither advertising nor cross-site profiling. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure, stable and efficient provision of the website pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR and the Swiss FADP. Our cooperation with Wix is governed by a data processing agreement (available at https://www.wix.com/about/privacy-dpa-users).
Social media
We use plugins from social networks and platforms on our website.
We would like to point out that user data may be processed outside the European Union and/or Switzerland. This may result in risks for users, as it may, for example, make it more difficult to enforce user rights.
In addition, user data is generally processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, user profiles can be created from user behaviour and the resulting interests of users. The usage profiles can in turn be used, for example, to place advertisements within and outside the platforms that are likely to correspond to the interests of the users. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on the user's computer, in which the user's usage behaviour and interests are stored. In addition, data may also be stored in user profiles independently of the devices used by users (in particular if users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them). The respective social network or platform is responsible for ensuring that data processing on these platforms complies with the relevant data protection laws. By using the plugins, you consent to the corresponding data processing.
For a detailed description of the respective processing and the options for objection (opt-out), we refer to the information provided by the providers linked below.

Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as the legal basis for our aforementioned processing. Our legitimate interest lies in the provision of our services.
Your rights as a data subject
Within the scope of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have inaccurate data rectified (Art. 16 GDPR), to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and to object to the processing of your data on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR); the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected. You are entitled to corresponding rights under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). To exercise your rights, an informal message to datenschutz@eucorail.com or to the contact details of the controller given above is sufficient. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) — in Switzerland with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in Germany with the supervisory authority responsible for your place of residence or for us (for EUCO Rail Services GmbH: the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision, BayLDA).
Data deletion and storage period
We process and store personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective processing purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations (in particular under commercial and tax law). The data is then deleted or anonymised. Enquiries that reach us via the contact form or by e-mail are deleted as soon as their handling is complete and no retention obligations prevent deletion, and in any event no later than twelve months after the enquiry has been closed. Where deletion is not possible in an individual case, or only with disproportionate effort (for example in the case of backup copies), the processing of the data is restricted.
Encryption (SSL/TLS)
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data — for example when you submit an enquiry via the contact form — this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of your browser begins with “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar. When encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties. In addition, together with our hosting provider we implement technical and organisational measures within the meaning of Art. 32 GDPR to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
